5 fights to make after UFC London

Now when UFC London is over, we will try to see what fight makes the most sense for few  fighters on that card.

Marc Diakiese dominated very tough Joe Duffy in their fight on the prelims. Diakiese was riding a 3 fight losing streak before the fight, so he knew that he had his back against the wall and needed a win to keep himself in the UFC. Diakese showed everyone yesterday what he is capable of. On to the next fight. We would like to see him fight Damir Hadzovic in UFC Stockholm in June.

It was a great opportunity for Gunnar Nelson to hit the top 10 rankings in the UFC Welterweight division with a win over a fighter that was riding a 6 fight winning streak. Leon Edwards looked impressive in London and won the fight by a split decision. Gunnar does always look for the finish rather than scoring points. Leon Edwards, on the other hand, has never been finished in his career and has a habit to win his opponents by scoring enough points to get the decision win. That alone is very a bad matchup for Gunni. Gunnar Nelson is a great fighter and very entertaining when he gets to the ground, but seems to lose his most important fights. The day after the event we don´t really know what should be best move for Gunni. But we came up with two options.
Option 1. Gunnar tries to get back on track and fights a fighter that is in the same situation as him. Neil Magny, Gunnar Nelson was supposed to fight Neil Magny at UFC Liverpool on 27th May last year but Gunnar got injured, Magny got a new opponent in Craig White, finished him in the first round but got knocked out against Santiago Ponzinibbio in his next fight. It makes sense to match them up against each other. To get one of them back on track.

Option 2. Gunnar Nelson signs up with ONE Championship and fights Zebaztian Kadestam for the Welterweight title. Gunnar Nelson fits right into the culture of ONE Championship, where the environment there is respectful and calm. The Welterweight division at ONE Championship is very thin at the moment. But ONE Championship has been signing big names recently and is always getting bigger and better every day.

Dominick Reyes added a nice feather to his cap last night by winning former title contender Volkan Oezdemir by a split decision. Dominick Reyes is undefeated in his professional career and is climbing the light heavyweight rankings very fast. There is a fighter that is doing exactly the same thing in the light heavyweight division at the moment, Jhonny Walker. That fight must happen!!

Darren Till was knocked out in the second round against Jorge Masvidal yesterday. Till needs probably a good time to recover from that, when he is ready we would like to see him fight Robbie Lawler. Robbie Lawler has lost two fights in a row like Till now. They are big guys with big names that get the crowd excited.

We know that Ben Askren was in the crowd in London yesterday, ready to call out the winner of the main event. Ben Askren vs Jorge Masvidal would make sense after the results yesterday. But after the brawl between Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal backstage after the event, that fight sells itself.
