Max Holloway Injured and will not fight Frankie Edgar at UFC 222. TJ Dillashaw has refused to fight Cody Garbrandt as a replacement fight.

Max Holloway is injured and will not defend his featherweight title against Frankie Edgar at UFC 222 on March 3 in Las Vegas. Holloway sustainded a leg injury in training. UFC is currently trying to find a new main event, TJ Dillashaw vs Cody Garbrandt was the fight that they were trying to make but TJ refused.

“It took me two years to get a title shot back, and now they want me to defend on four weeks notice? I have a five-week-old son. I’m not training. My camp is in Calfornia, and I’m in Denver right now. And all this to face a guy who doesn’t even deserve a rematch? I lost a split decision to Dominick Cruz when I lost my belt. Some people at the UFC told me they thought I won that fight, and it still took me two years to get another title shot. I had to wait through Cody’s back injury last year, then all the TUF bullshit. So I’m not doing it. I told the UFC I’m not doing it. I’m shooting for the Demetrious Johnson in July.”
